The key speaker of the seminar, Mr. Rehan Allahwala, is a Karachi-based successful entrepreneur in the field of Information Technology and founding leader of Insaan Party.
He is a motivational speaker who encourages the people of Pakistan to start earning their livelihood through social media. He is recently on a campaign to convince teachers of Pakistan to establish their YouTube channels to upload their recorded lectures. He said that Pakistan is a poor country just because access to education is not easy for all economically compromised classes. We, as a society, need to work for the welfare of our uneducated underprivileged classes. Everyone now a days affords a mobile phone and internet connection but meeting the expenses of educational institutes is comparatively difficult for them. Our teachers can revolutionize the education sector to address the needs of this less privileged class of people. Digitization of knowledge is not only a social service, but it also provides alternate sources of income as well. Dr Shahzad Basra, Chairman Agronomy Department, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad shared his personal experience of running his YouTube channel. Mr. Sajid Iqbal Sandhu, CEO Green Circle Pakistan also shared his experience of how social media supports him in conveying guidelines to his target audience within seconds. Both supporting speakers declared Allahwala’s message practical to digitize our education system with little effort to bring large scale change in society. The registrar GCWUF, Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli appreciated the efforts of Rehan Allahwala and thanked him for motivating the faculty of the university to work for common good of the society. At the end, Ms. Amara Javed, Incharge Media Cell thanked the guests for their arrival.
